I'll keep this a little cagey, in part because I haven't yet seen an official cover reveal from the publisher (due in a week or so, I'm told), but by all means consider this a tease for 2025. I've contributed a chapter to an anthology of new writing on experiences of poverty in the UK. My piece is called Cash.
Over the weekend I've seen a cover preview and I've been asked to make final proofreading checks on the typeset version of the manuscript. Basically, it's being readied for printing, so this is the last chance to make sure that all the full stops are in the right place and so on.
Cash is something I wrote a little over a year ago. It's a good feeling to go back over something from the past and be broadly happy with it. I could have gone into a lot more detail, basically, but that might have diluted the overall idea that I was exploring. Anyway, there's a tiny sneak preview below.
The anthology is due out in April 2025: once I've got a cover to share, I'll update with a link for pre-ordering the book.
Update: here ya go.
